Harkness Camp

Harkness Camp takes place at the beginning of each year. All students come together as a community for an overnight trip of fun games and activities. This is an opportunity for our students to get to know people from all grade levels while participating in activities put together by the Student Council.

The adventure starts a few days before, when new students are sorted into Houses: Terra, Ignis, Aqua, and Aer. These houses become their teams for their time at Harkness, and the Harkness Camp is their first opportunity to engage in friendly competition between houses!

As soon as they arrive, students are welcomed with a few ice-breaker activities to help them get acquainted with their teams, which are made of sophomores, juniors and seniors. What follows is a day and a half of activities where students are able to unwind, laugh, spend some time outside, and begin to form the bonds of the Harkness Community. After dinner, students have free time to hangout by the bonfire, play hide and seek, or just relax with old and new friends.

The Harkness Camp is one of our most treasured traditions because it brings all of the Harkness Community together for a time dedicated just for fun and connection. The community that we begin to form in this trip will serve as the support network for our students during their entire time at Harkness.
