For Admission at Upper Grade Levels
A preliminary interview with the parents and student is always necessary, but can be made with a prior appointment anytime during the year. The admission examination will be scheduled individually.
Scholarship Aid
At Harkness, our goal is that every student who is admitted can afford to attend. Families may apply for financial aid after they officially enroll the admitted student. Financial aid is offered based on need, not on academic merit. Financial aid applications open in May and the socioeconomic studies are completed in June. Applicants are asked to submit documents that show the family's financial situation, including bank statements, tax declarations, payroll slips, and mortgage/rent payments. The financial aid committee carefully analyzes every application, and where need is evident, financial aid is awarded. Our funds are limited, and we may not always fully meet every family's need.
